(AREIC) – Ali Rafay Early Intervention Centre
AREIC caters for the very young children with autism. The results have shown that the youngest children respond very well to occupational therapy, speech therapy and ABA techniques. At AREIC they are given intensive one-to-one interactive therapy according to the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principals. At present 52 children with autism are admitted in AREIC. Their ages range between 2 to 6 years. During the last six years 14 children from AREIC have made it to the main stream schools and another 12 have progressed to Amin Remedial School. AREIC provides the following facilities:
- Diagnosis and evaluation
- Development of Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Sensory therapy
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions
- Speech therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Swimming and sports activities
- Training of the staff
- Counseling and training sessions for the parents
Autism Resource Centre (ARC) Rawalpindi takes care of 100 children with autism. In a typical teaching session each child gets a unique one-to-one interaction through teacher aids while a group head leads the teaching activity.
