Autism Society of Pakistan
Autism Society of Pakistan (ASP) was registered as a non-profit National umbrella organisation in 2010, under The Societies Act, 1860, with the primary objective to work for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and also includes advocacy, fund raising, training and research. The first Autism Resource Centre (ARC) is functioning at Rawalpindi since Sep 2010. Encouraged by the success, and consistent with the mandate of replicating resource centres, another setup at Islamabad was added in 2016.

Donors are lifeline to any volunteer organization. Autism Society of Pakistan (ASP) welcomes the donors to donate for the betterment of Autistic children and to add a smile to the parents. We thank our current and past donors for their generosity.
What is Autism?
Autism is a complex neuro-developmental disorder that is usually detected in children from 18 months to three years of age. It affects the child’s communication, socialization and cognition. If the children with autism receive early intervention they improve remarkably well and many of them may go to the mainstream schools. There are no reliable data for the prevalence of autism in Pakistan. In the US population autism is seen in about one in sixty nine children and its incidence is gradually increasing. The statistics from South Asia estimate that there may be 350,000 children with autism in Pakistan. Unfortunately most of these children remain undiagnosed due to the lack of awareness and expertise in diagnosis. The parents often suffer silently and perhaps more unfortunate are the affected children who have to bear the brunt of the disorder and being mishandled.
