Maj Gen (Dr) Suhaib Ahmed (R), HI (M)
Maj Gen Suhaib Ahmed (R), HI (M), himself an affected parent, is associated with ASP since its inception. He did MBBS from King Edward Medical College Lahore in 1980. He is Fellow of Haematology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and also has PhD in molecular genetics from University College London. He has served in the Armed Forces for over 32 years where he mostly worked at the prestigious Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. In 1994 he started the first clinical service for prenatal diagnosis of thalassaemia and other genetic disorders in Pakistan. He has over 60 scientific publications in the International and National medical journals. He is also author of books on Genetic Haemoglobin Disorders in Pakistan and PCR in Diagnostic Pathology. Presently he is working as Professor of Haematology at Riphah International University, Islamabad. He also heads the Genetics Resource Centre at Rawalpindi that specializes in the prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders in Pakistan. He is the past President of Pakistan Society of Haematology (PSH) and Association for Molecular Pathology (AMPP). He is the current President of Pakistan Thalassaemia Welfare Society (PATHWEL).
Fatimah Asif
Fatimah Asif completed articles with A. F. Fergusson in 1985 and joined the Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi. In 1989, she joined Lasmo Oil as a senior accountant and a joint venture accountant. Later she worked with Globe Merchandisers as a Financial Consultant overseeing its garments export business before joining the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in 2002 where she rose up to be its Finance Director. Since 2006, she is volunteering as Financial Consultant for Behbud Association of Pakistan.
Maj Gen Waqar Ahmad Kingravi (R), HI (M)
Maj Gen (Retd) Waqar Ahmad Kingravi was commissioned into the Punjab Regiment in 1974.He joined Pakistan Army Aviation Corps in 1978. He is qualified on Fixed Wing as well as Rotary Wing aircraft. He was one of the pioneers who established Army Aviation Combat Group and flew armed Cobra helicopters extensively. He is a Qualified Helicopter Instructor. He also served as a Company Commander at the prestigious Pakistan Military Academy. He has the degree of MSc War Studies from National Defense University. The pinnacle of his career was command of Pakistan Army Aviation Corps during 2007 and 2008, once high intensity security operations against militants were being carried out. After serving on various command, staff and instructional appointments, he retired in 2012. He has been actively supporting the establishment and development of Autism Society of Pakistan right from the conceptual stage. He has vast experience of management and a keen interest in actively working for social uplift causes.

Muhammad Majid Qureshi
Muhammad Majid Qureshi is retired Civil Servant who has served in various public departments, including The Directorate of Special Education in Islamabad. He is also engaged in social welfare activities from the platforms of Rotary Club, Parveen Shakir Trust and Strive Trust.
Brig Tariq Mehmood (R)
Brig Tariq Mahmud served in the Pakistan Army on key assignments including command of troops both within and outside the country and has wide experience of both staff and instructions for more than thirty years. He also served as Secretary, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) that broadened his vision, improved his skills in developing strategies, and sharpened his ability to achieve goal oriented results. In private sector, he was involved in the management of a “Group of Industries” at corporate level. He holds an MBA degree and has attended numerous courses on subjects related to management /finance in LUMS Pakistan and regulatory affairs in the University of Florida USA. A resourceful and committed person, who as a commander of Troops in UN Mission, made handsome contributions in helping the poor and war affected community in Cambodia. His innovative approach to involve the local community in eradication of epidemic in Cambodia, welfare projects for the crippled segment of the society which suffered due to mines, provision of clean drinking water and rehabilitation of refugees not only earned him gratitude of the people of Cambodia, but also great respect amongst the community of Nations. He is an author of a book written on one of the subject of United Nations, which is a reflection on reconstruction of a war torn community under hostile environments. As a member on the Board of Directors of Autism Society of Pakistan (ASP), we are looking forward to capitalize on his enormous potentials to pursue the goals of the society.
Farida Kingravi
Farida Kingravi has spent her lifetime in volunteer activities in Pakistan in various roles. She has worked to teach homeless children and kids playing around or looking for food in dumpsters. She has also spent a significant amount of time working with individuals traumatized due to displacement and loss of relatives after the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. She has also taught elementary school children for several years. She traveled to the United Sates and had the opportunity to work with autistic children at Woodfords Family Services in Portland, Maine and United Cerebral Palsy Autism Center in Bangor, Maine (USA). Farida received her undergraduate degree in Economics, Psychology and English from Kinnaird College, and also holds a Bachelor in Education from Multan University.
BRIG MUHAMMAD ALI ASIF SIRHINDI (R), SI (M)
Brig Muhammad Asif Ali Sirhindi (R) was Commissioned in Pak Army in April 1974 in Regiment of Artillery, Later, he joined Army Aviation in Jan 1977. In the Army he has served on important assignments of Command, Staff and Instructional appointments, including Station Commander Quetta and Director Training of Army Aviation. He was awarded two COAS commendation Cards for act of valour and safe flying and Sitara Imtiaz (Military) for devotion to duty, hard work and excellence. After retirement from the Army he has served in the corporate sector for more than a decade and held important appointments as General Manager in the OGDCL and Fatima Group (Fertilizer and Energy Sector). He has been associated with ASP for more than three years.
SHAUKAT MAHMOOD
Mr Shaukat Mahmood is an officer of Central Superior Services (CSS) joined Civil Services in the Inland Revenue Service in 1984 and served in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Government of Pakistan and it’s field formations for more than three decades. He retired from FBR in the year 2016 in grade 21. He has to his credit multiple senior operational and leadership assignments. In July 2024, Mr Shaukat Mahmood was appointed by Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Islamabad, Government of Pakistan as Advisor-in-charge of Regional Secretariat, Abbottabad. Mr. Shaukat is now endeavoring to reach out to the community/taxpayers to aware them of their rights as a tax payer and resolving their tax grievances with the Federal Board of Revenue. He has joined ASP as manifestation of his commitment to the cause of “Autism”.
Khawaja Iftikhar Ahmed Mir
Khawaja Ifthikhar Ahmed Mir is a retired BPS 21 Officer of the Military Land & Cantonment Group, 1982 batch of the Central Superior Services of Pakistan (CSS). He has to his credit multiple leadership assignments and served as Executive Cantonment Officer, in Cantonment Boards at Dera Ismail Khan, Nowshera, Quetta, Karachi and Rawalpindi. His last stint was as Additional Secretary (Aviation Division) Ministry of Defense, Government of Pakistan. He retired in the year 2015 and now works for philanthropic activities.
Dr Shahida Khan
Dr Shahida khan, a medical doctor has post graduation in tropical paediatrics and public health from Liverpool University, UK and in Nutrition from Pakistan. She has an extensive experience of working in different government and non government institutions and organisations including Behbud Association of Pakistan, Aurat Foundation, Concern For Mental Health, Pakistan Institute of Medical sciences, Benazir Bhutto,Holy Family and DHQ hospital Abbottabad etc. She initiated and successfully completed multiple programs and projects in collaboration with Unicef, World population Foundation, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Konrad Adeneur Foundation, South Asian Women Foundation etc. Her areas of work included ( but not limited to) provision of clinical as well as preventive health services mainly in Mother and child health, Adolescent and Adult reproductive health and mental health. Also worked intensively in community development and social aspects including adult and children education, gender, legal issues, women skill development and income generation. She has had intensive experience of working at community level with groups of women as well as with national and international level activists, eminent representatives, facilitators and trainers and has received “training of the trainers program” for training of community health workers. Received and applied intensive training in participatory methodology for community development. She has conducted a number of training workshops and awareness programs for multiple levels of health workers. She has also set up and operated multiple family welfare centres in urban, semi urban and rural areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad while working as executive director/ programs Coordinator for Behbud Association from 2000- 2007. Moreover she started and successfully operated a mental health clinic in Rawalpindi for Concern for Mental health from 2007 to 2020.It was (first of its kind clinic) providing integrated psychiatric and psychological services to poor communities at very low cost. Similarly started and operated a free psychiatric rehabilitation centre from 2010- 2020 for psychiatric patients admitted in Institute of Psychiatry and WHO collaborating centre, Benazir Bhutto hospital, Rawalpindi. The program has been acknowledged and documented by the institute by publishing it as “ a successful model of public- private partnership “ for countries with limited resources. She received Thomas Mark award from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK in 1994 while studying there followed by a research conducted in slums of Islamabad on “tetanus antibiotics levels in adolescent girls and scope of lifelong protection from tetanus with one booster dose of vaccination.”
