(NRC) – Nadeem Rehabilitation Centre
NRC is for older children with autism. Most of the children at NRC are teenagers who could not get adequate early intervention due to its non availability at that time. At present NRC has 14 children with autism who are taught about:
- Activities of daily living (ADLs) and social interaction that includes activities like face washing, toilet training, changing clothes, teeth brushing, combing and table manners.
- Prevocational training to sharpen any specific skill that a child may have.
- Addressing the sensory needs (sensory diet) through Joint compression, OT brushing, small joint massage and hug machine etc.
- Training of the Staff
- Counseling and training sessions for the parents
We are striving towards developing a residential set-up for these children. We aim to provide them facilities like horse riding and swimming that would enhance their physical social and cognitive skills and are very integral parts of any rehab program.
